Welcome to Affinity Hearing

Hi, my name is Steve Chargo, the owner and audiologist at Affinity Hearing.

At Affinity Hearing we are committed to helping our patients achieve the best possible hearing.  From the moment you walk in our door, we want you to feel at home with us and know that you have come to a place where we truly care about you, your family, and your hearing.  When it comes to audiology and hearing aid providers, we know that you have a choice and we want you to know how much we appreciate that you have entrusted your hearing care to us.

I have been a licensed audiologist for over 30 years and received my Master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in 1981. I feel very fortunate to have had a wide variety of professional experience in my career as an audiologist, including hospital and clinical positions, management roles within the hearing aid manufacturing industry, culminating with the founding of Affinity Hearing in 2003. My experience at Affinity Hearing has been by far the most satisfying of my life. I have helped hundreds of patients to achieve better hearing and live happier, more fulfilling lives by overcoming many of the problems associated with a hearing loss.

As the top independent audiology clinic serving Plymouth, Minnetonka, Hopkins, St. Louis Park, Golden Valley, Maple Grove, Medina, Wayzata, Orono, Buffalo and other Twin Cities western suburbs, we are dedicated to:

  • Putting our patients first. Every person is different and my recommendation will be specific to the needs of each unique individual. I wouldn’t recommend something to my patients that I wouldn’t also recommend to my own mother or father.
  • Offering a variety of products from many manufacturers. There are a huge number of choices when it comes to hearing aids.  Carrying hearing aids from all major manufacturers, gives us a number of choices, ensuring that we can help guide you to the best possible solution that is within your budget.
  • Living by the “Golden Rule”. We treat our patients the same way we want to be treated.  Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, professionalism, and fairness.  Most of our new patients are referred to us by our current patients and this is the best compliment that we can possibly receive.
  • Low Price Guarantee.  The society we live in is competitive.  Nobody wants to spend more than they have to.  Everyone wants to get the most for their money.  At Affinity Hearing, we are confident that when making an apples-to-apples comparison, our value is unsurpassed.  As testament to this philosophy, if you bring in a written price quote for hearing instruments, including warranty and service options, we will beat it!

I am married to a fantastic, caring, supportive and beautiful wife Robyn.  We are the parents of three boys (Dan, Ben, and Alex), all in different stages of college and graduate school.  We have two dogs, Lexi (a golden retriever, who still thinks she is a puppy, even though she is 10) and Cooper (an Australian Shepard—he’s kind of big, many people think he is a Bernese Mountain Dog).  I enjoy all kinds of activities including fishing, golf, boating, skiing, or just relaxing with a good book.  I am also a musician, playing the trumpet with the Hopkins Westwind Concert Band and am involved with local community theater.

I look forward to helping you achieve the best possible hearing!  Enjoy our web site and if you think there is something we should consider adding, I welcome your comments.
